The ringer tee is probably one of my favorite retro pieces. I’ve owned several throughout the years. This style keeps coming back. Ringer tees originated in the 1950’s and became more popular in the 70’s. I love a piece that gives me a good 70’s vibe.
Nowadays you can see the ringer tee styled in so many ways. So, today I’m going to share a few ways you can use this tee as a basic in your wardrobe and style it several ways. This style I’m wearing is from a brand you see me feature quite a lot here on the blog. Who What Wear makes some amazing pieces to keep your wardrobe up to date and versatile.
This tee comes in two color ways, the one pictured here is a play on the classic white tee with a magenta ribbing. It is also available in a mustard orange color with black ribbing. For me, a ringer tee is so versatile now because you can find them in so many different combinations. I’ve been able to pair this one with many different outfits and layer it as well. Here are three different ways you can style this tee.
For this look I style the ringer tee with a vintage polka dot skirt to give the tee a more feminine vibe. This tee can give a little more of a masculine vibe, so I decided to dress it up a little with ruffles. Of course, I like to keep myself comfy while I’m on the go as well. So, I opted for a pair of white sneakers and retro shades to finish off my look.
A t-shirt can be a great staple in your wardrobe and can be used as a layering piece for looks for work as well. As a result, you could pair this ringer tee with a pair of trousers and throw on a relaxed blazer. You can even do a plaid or printed blazer depending on what your style is.
I’ve also opted to pair this ringer tee tucked into a high waisted pair of jeans for a retro 90’s vibe. It’s a more casual look but it’s convenient for any errands you might run on the weekend. If you want to elevate this look or use it for going out just add some hoop earrings, a belt bag and some mules and you have a great street style vibe.
