Polka Dots + Pleats : Updated Vintage Pleated Skirt

When it comes to thrifting one of the things, I enjoy the most is seeing the potential in a piece and what I can change about it to make it look more modern.  I really enjoy wearing old silhouettes, but sometimes they just need a little update to keep your look fresh.  Today I am sharing how to update and style this vintage pleated skirt.

Instantly fell in love with the fabric and color when I went to the thrift store.  I did not like the length of it and immediately knew I had to shorten is to give it a more modern vibe.  My favorite part of this skirt is the high fitted waist.  Sometimes pleats can be unforgiving, but this style gives a great shape through the waist and hip.

Turtleneck: OLD NAVY | Polka Dot Camisole: ANN TAYLOR
Pleated Skirt: VINTAGE/GOODWILL
Backpack & Boots: MIZ MOOZ

We have been getting some very beautiful weather in Miami, so I got the chance to layer my look.  I paired this skirt with a black knit turtleneck and added on a little polka dot camisole to add a fun print.  I threw on some opaque tights and leather boots to enjoy our walk around the beautiful city of Coral Gables.  Hope you guys get some outfit inspiration from this look and enjoy a wonderful week!
