Monday Motivation: 5 No-Cost Workout Ideas

When it comes to working out, staying motivated is a big thing.  My main motivator is being able to change up my workouts or trying different things.  I also haven’t been to a gym since I got out of college, and that was a while ago.  Since having my baby, I have been more focused on finding no-cost workout ideas and staying motivated to keep my weight off post-baby.  Prior to having the baby, I was doing Yoga & Pilates, but after baby I wanted to try a few other ideas.  This is a list of my top 5 no-cost workout ideas that will help keep you on track but that come with a variety of options.

STEPS/STAIRS

It seems like something very basic, but it’s really a good workout.  A couple months after Briana was born, we still lived in our 2nd floor apartment and we had a double flight of stairs right outside.  I used these steps to really end my workout.  I would walk with Briana in the baby carrier for about 45 minutes and then I would do 5-10 minutes of steps.  It was a tough workout but so worth it.  You can literally find steps anywhere and use this no-cost workout to your advantage.

30 DAY CHALLENGES

If you are looking to add something to your workouts or looking for a little challenge, this no-cost workout idea is for you.  There are all kinds of 30 day challenges out there.  I usually find mine on Pinterest.  My favorite ones are from fitness expert Cassey Ho.  I found her challenges first on Pinterest and then started following her on Instagram.  Like I said, you can find these anywhere on the internet or in magazines.  These challenges really helped me lose some of my tummy fat post-baby and get my waistline back.

YOUTUBE YOGA

Yoga has always been a workout that has been great to center, calm and focus me.  It really is more of a therapy for me, but I highly recommend.  The reason I call this Youtube Yoga is because there are some great yoga channels on Youtube.  I recently discovered Boho Beautiful and they have great beginner videos as well.  There are so many great channels for yoga, meditation, and pilates you just must look it up, and try it!

OPEN AIR GYMS

I put this last on my list because I’m not sure how many people have access to these open-air gyms.  But if you are in Miami, you know that most parks have open air gyms with equipment designed for people to workout outside.  This no-cost workout idea is best suited for early morning or evening during this time of year.  But if you want to sweat try this option.  You will be surprised what a great workout it is.

Monday Motivation: 5 No-Cost Workout Ideas

There are so many ways to stay motivated and keep your fitness interesting.  You don’t have to spend hours in the gym sculpting the perfect body.  You just need to get yourself moving, try something new, and get that heart-rate up for 30 minutes to an hour a day. Also, don’t forget to encourage one another.  If you know of someone who needs some help getting active, invite them for a walk in the park.  Something is better than nothing.
