It’s taken me a little while but today I wanted to share a more personal post. I wanted to share with you all the details of my Mexican Fiesta baby shower because the theme was so adorable. A lot of time and planning went into this day and it was really such a special day for me. I’m happy I’m able to share it all with you guys.
The Theme: Mexican Fiesta Baby Shower
When it came time to think of a theme. I automatically knew I wanted it to be a Mexican theme. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, so I checked somethings out on Pinterest and that’s where the Mexican Fiesta theme came from. Basically, I took a bunch of pictures of different Mexican Fiesta Baby Shower ideas and sent them to my sister-in-law.
I had nothing to do with the planning of my baby shower. I handed it off to my sister-in-law who basically ran with the idea and really made my dream come true. Luckily, she gets me and understands my style pretty well so when I said Mexican Fiesta she knew exactly what to do. I also mentioned succulents & cacti and oh boy…did she deliver. Her & my mother-in-law made multiple trips to Isaac Farms and made the most beautiful custom arrangements for the shower that brought everything together. They were both so amazing in helping set up this special day for me & baby.
Food & Location
I chose Peppers in Pinecrest as the location because this restaurant has the best festive décor and great Mexican food that I knew everyone would enjoy. Peppers really delivered when it came to the food and the service. The staff was great working with the whole group. I also chose this restaurant because they have one of my favorite Mexican drinks of all time: Horchata. My mom and I really enjoyed way too much of the horchata, but we were very pleased. Everyone also raved about the mini flautas and the mini churros and I was very excited about the taco bar. Everything was amazing and delicious.
Baby Name Reveal
Another thing that I really wanted to be special on this day was the baby name reveal. Almost everyone knew what we were going to name baby girl, except for one person (my older sister). I mentioned to Mandi (my sister-in-law) that I wanted to tell her on the day of the shower and make it intimate and special. She went ahead and made a custom little banner for the cake herself and I was able to have my sister help me with putting the banner on.
Of course, she was surprised when she saw that the baby’s name was Briana Rae. She is named after my older sister and very best friend in the whole world. I’m so excited that she will have an amazing auntie in her life. It was a very special weekend because I had both my older sister and my mom in Miami with me. Thanks to everyone who knew the baby name and kept It a secret until that day!
Originally, I didn’t want any games played at the shower, but I knew my sister-in-law would come up with some fun stuff and she did. Everyone had lots of good laughs during these games. Especially the ball drop game or I think it’s called the Waddle game. My mom even won the diaper smelling game, so she was excited about that. They were all very fun and I have some great memories to hold onto after these games.
Family & Friends
Above all, I was so grateful to have so many family and friends there on our special day. I have come to know so many people in Josh’s family and have made some very special friends and met great ladies since I moved to Miami. It was great to be surrounded by so many amazing, spiritual and strong women on this special day. Also thanks to my mom & sister for coming to spend this weekend with me. Looking forward for everyone to meet little Briana Rae.
I believe the favors were everyone’s favorite part of the day. Don’t think I could’ve picked better favors myself. So the favors were mini succulents/cacti from Isaac Farms. They were so adorable and when I saw them I wanted to take them all home. If you know my love for succulents then you totally understand that feeling. But apparently everyone else felt the same as well! Also Mandi chose larger arrangements as the gifts for those who won the games and those were gorgeous as well.
Last, but not least, the day would not have been complete without my amazing photographer Danielle Margherite. Every time I have Danielle shoot for me she captures things in such a special way and I am so grateful for her abilities. She’s one of the most amazing and talented ladies I have met while here in Miami and I am happy she could capture every moment of this day for me. Thanks so Much Danielle, you are amazing!!!
Thanks to all of those who made it out to Celebrate Briana Rae. We are so excited to welcome her into this world and there will be more updates to come for sure!!!
XOXO, Happy Girl
