Whoever made up the saying “Oldie but Goodie” really knew what they were talking about. I have always been a lover of re-styling my wardrobe in different ways. One of the ways I like to keep my wardrobe unique is by adding vintage pieces to it. I get such joy out of finding a vintage piece that reflects my personal style and makes a statement. Whenever I shop vintage I really like to take the time and sort through everything at consignment boutiques or thrift stores. I love to go through every section in a thrift store because you never know when you’ll find a hidden gem tucked behind something. I also never pass up looking in the men’s section because you can always find vintage t-shirts that are cool. Old graphic tees can really step up your look for Summer. You might find pieces that you will keep for quite some time. Today I’m sharing just a few of the things I look for when I want to get some cool “new” vintage pieces for my wardrobe. If you try looking for these things you will be sure to have an elevated Summer wardrobe.
When it comes to vintage, I like to shop pieces that can stand on their own and make a statement. Like the dress in this post! When I saw this dress, I noticed the colors and the larger print, and my first thought was. This piece would look great with simple accessories. Stand out vintage pieces can really elevate your Summer look without over-complicating it. These pieces are worth the investment.
Pops of Color
Whether its accessories or apparel. You want to look for vintage pieces for Summer that have pops of color. Whether it’s a solid or print, pops of color in unique pieces will make your look stand out. The best thing is that these pieces can be paired with jeans or shots to give you a cool retro look.
When it comes to shopping Vintage jewelry, you really must be smart. I normally look for pieces that are still in good condition. Older jewelry pieces can be a little sensitive and can easily break. If you can, always try them on first. I always like to go for a retro vibe when it comes to vintage pieces. It’s not easy to find great vintage jewelry pieces, but when you do they are worth the investment.
If you really want to find unique pieces, don’t hesitate to shop your local thrift stores and consignment boutiques. These places often have some one-of-a-kind items. Stay tuned because I’ll be sharing more of my vintage finds with you all throughout the seasons. Don’t forget to enter your email and subscribe to the blog so you know when a new post goes live!
